MyGymBuddy is built to work fully offline. Your workouts, routines, equipment profiles, and progress history are stored locally on your device. We do not require an account, we do not run ads, and we do not sell or share your data — there is no server relationship to monetize because the app is paid for once, up front.
MyGymBuddy stores the following data locally on your device, in the app's private storage area:
None of this data is transmitted off your device by MyGymBuddy. There is no cloud sync, backend database, or analytics pipeline that this data flows into.
If your device is configured to back up app data (for example, via iCloud or Google account backup), your MyGymBuddy data may be included in that backup as part of your device's normal backup process. That backup is controlled by your device's operating system and account settings, not by MyGymBuddy directly.
Certain optional features — such as syncing with Apple Health, Google Fit, or Health Connect — are opt-in and only activate if you explicitly enable them in Settings. When enabled, MyGymBuddy reads or writes only the specific data types needed for that feature (for example, workout sessions or heart rate), using the platform's own permission system, which you can revoke at any time from your device settings.
MyGymBuddy is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age, since the app does not collect personal information in the first place.
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the app introduces an optional cloud sync feature — this page will be updated with a new "last updated" date and a clear description of what changed before that feature is enabled.
Questions about this policy or how MyGymBuddy handles data can be sent to the support contact listed on the app's store listing page.
